3.3 Usage Information
- URLs: The web addresses of pages where you comment or vote (normalized to ignore query parameters and fragments)
- Widget Position: Your preferred location of the VoxPop widget on each website (stored locally)
4. How We Use Your Information

- Calculate aggregate vote counts (likes/dislikes) for webpages
- Remember your widget preferences across browser sessions
5. Data Storage and Security
- Server Storage: Comments, votes, and associated user information are stored on our secure servers (api.voxpopextension.com)
- Local Storage: Widget preferences and cached user identity are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API
- Security: All data transmitted between the extension and our servers uses HTTPS encryption
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.
Your comments and votes are publicly visible to all users of VoxPop on the same webpage. Your display name and profile photo (if provided via Google) will be visible alongside your comments.
We may disclose information only if:
- Required by law, regulation, or valid legal process
